INGREDIENT BREAKDOWN
While not directly involved in hydration, vitamin C is an antioxidant and immune system booster. Vitamin C also supports healthy bones, cartilage, skin, and teeth.(1)
Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin) – 1.2 mg
In general, the water-soluble B vitamins help convert food into energy and help the body cope with stress. Regarding hydration, the B vitamins help the body derail fatigue caused by dehydration. Individually, B2 is involved in energy production and cellular function(2)
Vitamin B6 – 5 mg
Like B2, B6 helps the body fight fatigue caused by dehydration. As an individual vitamin, B6 supports cognitive function.(3)
Folate (Folic Acid) – 800 mcg
This is another B vitamin that helps offset dehydration-related fatigue.
Vitamin B12 – 100 mcg
Of all the B vitamins, B12 is the most associated with energy and combating stress. A must-have B for hydration.
Biotin – 30 mcg
Besides combatting fatigue, biotin is good for healthy hair and skin.
Pantothenic Acid – 5 mg
The final B vitamin in Hydrate STK. Like the other B’s, this one supports energy production and helps fight fatigue.
Calcium – 90 mg
An electrolyte mineral, the calcium in Hydrate STK is a blend of 3 forms: calcium carbonate, calcium citrate, and DimaCal® (dicalcium malate). The primary advantage of each of these forms is improved absorption.(4)
Magnesium (as Magnesium Bisglycinate, Magnesium Citrate) – 100 mg
Magnesium is also an electrolyte mineral. One of the most important functions for 5%ers is that magnesium supports muscular contraction. 5% Hydrate STK uses two forms that provide superior absorption over other forms. In addition, magnesium bisglycinate is involved in protein metabolism.(5)
Chloride – 348 mg
An electrolyte mineral that also improves digestion and metabolism.(6)
Sodium – 200 mg
Of all the electrolyte minerals, sodium is the one that gets a bad rap. Many 5%ers do their best to avoid it altogether. Besides helping to balance fluid levels in the body, sodium is crucial for normal nerve transmission. While high levels of sodium in the diet should be controlled, it’s a critical electrolyte. It’s also in perfect balance with the other electrolyte minerals in 5% Hydrate STK.(7)
Potassium – 500 mg
This electrolyte mineral is also important. It can help manage normal blood pressure and supports cardiovascular and bone health.(8)
L-Taurine – 1,500 mg
Taurine is a sulfonic amino acid with an extensive list of benefits. First and most important, taurine supports hydration thanks to its osmotic properties. In other words, it pulls water into the muscles. That’s why it’s in so many pre-workouts – it promotes water-based pumps. Other benefits include cognitive enhancement, enhanced recovery, and improved nervous system health.(9,10,11,12)
Coconut Water Concentrate – 1,250 mg
Coconut water is a concentrated source of electrolyte minerals. That makes it an ideal ingredient for performance and recovery. Also, it may have antioxidant and heart health benefits.
Tart Cherry Extract 10:1 – 250 mg
Tart Cherry Extract is a good source of vitamins A, C, B, and K, as well as the electrolyte minerals potassium and magnesium. Tart Cherry Extract supports recovery, joint health, and immune system health.(13,14)
SAM-e – 100 mg
Also known as S-Adenosyl Methionine, this ingredient occurs naturally in the body. It’s made from the amino acid methionine, a precursor to other compounds, such as taurine, and the potent antioxidant glutathione. SAMe is commonly used to support joint function and cognitive health. It also helps combat fatigue.
